Monitoring Areas

You can select Monitoring areas to view a list of all the available and supported monitoring areas.

Creating a Monitoring Area

You can create your own monitoring area with a name starting with a capital Y* or Z* only. The resulting custom monitoring area is used for your own defined set of KPIs and assigned to specific systems to collect only these KPIs. Assigning a Monitoring Area to a Satellite System

Once you have successfully added a satellite system to the list of monitored systems, it is automatically assigned to a monitoring area. However, in certain cases, for example after upgrading to a new CrystalBridge® Monitoring version with new monitoring areas, you must assign a monitoring area manually. Proceed as follows:

  1. Start transaction /DVD/MON.

  2. In the menu bar, click Settings > System settings.

  3. Select the system that you want to assign under System maintenance.

  4. Double click Monitoring areas in the dialog structure tree. 

  5. Click New Entries. 

  6. Add the monitoring area to the selected system.

  7. Press Enter.

  8. Click Save.

  • The monitoring area is assigned to the monitoring system. You can now collect area-specific KPIs.
