Logical System

Logical systems follow the SAP definition of a logical system, i.e. a productively used SAP client. A logical system is the largest unit of data in SNP Outboard™ Datafridge – representing the source system data from a single client.

Logical systems are stored and maintained in the table /DVD/RMX_LOGSYS. The following columns are available:

  • Logical system: Name/identifier of the logical system.

  • Storage ID: Name of the transparent storage from Storage Management for storing tables with bulk data.

  • System version: Type of source system, e.g. R/2, R/3, SARA, other.

  • Root directory: Path to a mounted folder with all the required files, e.g. bulk data, object lists, table descriptors, attachments, etc.

  • Short text: Description of the logical system.

  • Storage ID (Binary): Name of the binary storage from Storage Management for storing attachments/binary data.

  • CSV File mode: Encoding mode of the logical system and its exported CSV files. The default value is NON-UNICODE. Possible values: UNICODE; NON-UNICODE.

  • Code Page: Code page used to export data to CSV files. It is only relevant for NON-UNICODE systems.

  • Source Client: Client number of the decommissioned legacy system.

  • Glue tabname prefix: Prefix for new data tables.

  • Metadata storage ID: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Ext. for obj. list: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Ext. for attach.: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Objlist tabn. prefix: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Objlisa tabn. prefix: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Attach. list prefix: Use only for metadata in an external storage.

  • Package for metadata: Use only for metadata in an external storage.
