Introduction

IDoc stands for intermediate document. It is a standard SAP document format. IDocs enable the connection of different application systems using a message-based interface.
IDoc data is stored in the following DB tables:

• EDIDC: Control record

• EDIDOCINDX: Control record

• EDIDO: Value table for IDoc types

• EDIDOT: Short description of IDoc types

• EDIDS: Status record

• EDIDD_OLD: Data record

• EDID2: Data record from 3.0 onwards

• EDID3: Data record from 3.0 onwards

• EDID4: Data record from 4.0 onwards

• EDID40: Data record from 4.0 onwards

If the old IDocs are being kept in the system, these EDI* tables might have become too big.
Unlike the standard SAP settings, this task is extended and enables you to set the date of document creation as an absolute or relative value (relative values have a higher priority).
