Introduction

The task BW Statistics Deletion is part of the Business Warehouse deletion tasks.
To evaluate the fundamental functional areas of the Business Information Warehouse, the system stores BW statistics in the following tables:

 

  • RSDDSTATAGGR

  • RSDDSTATAGGRDEF

  • RSDDSTATBIAUSE

  • RSDDSTATCOND

  • RSDDSTATDELE

  • RSDDSTATDM

  • RSDDSTATDTP

  • RSDDSTATEVDATA

  • RSDDSTATHEADER

  • RSDDSTATINFO

  • RSDDSTATLOGGING

  • RSDDSTATPPLINK

  • RSDDSTATTREX

  • ESDDSTATTREXSERV.

 

After a certain period of time, the statistics are not used and are therefore no longer needed. They can be deleted to reduce the data volume and increase performance when accessing these tables.
In SNP Outboard™ Housekeeping, it is possible to delete these BW statistics using a retention time.

Step List

1. In the main SNP Outboard™ Housekeeping menu, select Business Warehouse > Deletion Tasks > BW Statistics Deletion and click Settings.
2. Specify your desired settings. You can create new settings by entering a new ID or choose from existing settings.
3. To create new settings, you must fill out the Description field. You must also choose whether or not the settings ID will be run in test mode.
4. You can also restrict the deletion of BW statistics based on source objects:

  • Query

  • Logs

  • Aggregates

  • Data transfer process

  • Data on deletion

5. Click Save Settings to save the selection.
6. To make further changes, click Modify Settings and confirm.

BW Statistics – Settings detail

 

Once the settings for the task BW Statistics Deletion are specified, you can run the created/modified settings group from the main menu. There are several options for starting the deletion. For more information, refer to the Executing and Scheduling Activities chapter of this user documentation.

Recommendation

Our recommendation is to delete BW statistics that are older than 60 days.

Warning

Analyze the usage of BW statistics in the system before deleting them, because SNP Outboard™ Housekeeping deletes the BW statistics permanently.
