System Time Zone Settings
Every monitored SAP system must have consistent time and time zone settings to be able to collect and display monitored data as expected. CrystalBridge® Monitoring collects and stores all data in the global common standard time zone UTC. To be able to run monitoring as expected, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
-
Time is synchronized and correctly configured at OS level
-
Time zone settings of SAP system and dependent DB is configured in the same way as at OS level
Central and remote SAP system(s) can have different time settings, but it is mandatory that each monitored SAP system has it consistent within itself.
You can validate the time settings on SAP system by executing the standard report TZCUSTHELP. This report compares time zone settings between OS and application server. All additional details about this report and time zone comparison can be found in SAP note 2006897.
In addition, you can also check the SAP notes 1791342 (Time Zone Support in SAP HANA) or 198411 (Current data and information about time zones (ABAP)).
SUO, SU3 - Maintain time zone for the current user
STZAC - Maintain time zone for the system in the actual client
If time system settings on SAP system are not configured properly, you can experience the following issues:
-
Not possible to display the collected data in the selected time window.
-
If any data is dependent on the system time zone settings (for example, background jobs or runtime errors), wrong data is collected due to the incorrect time used for data selection.
