Offloading Analysis View

The results are available via transaction s /DVD/HS_OFF directly on the analyzed system.

InfoProviders that fulfill the offloading rules are displayed in the results. The following table shows the meaning of the particular columns in a result table:

Column

Description

Object

Technical name of the InfoProvider

Type

Type of InfoProvider (InfoCube, DSO, ADSO, WODS)

Description

Long description of the InfoProvider

Off. interface

Recommended offloading interface

Info

Detailed information about the available offloading interfaces and special functions recommended for the InfoProvider

Size [MB]

Estimated max. memory size of the object in MB:

  • InfoCube: F table + E table + dimension tables

  • DSO / WODS / ADSO: New table + active table

Total Mem. Size [MB]

Total memory size of the object in MB:

  • Size in main and delta memory

  • Calculated with the same formula as for the Size column

Disk Size [MB]

Disk size of the object in MB:

  • Calculated with the same formula as for the Size column

Off. pot. size [MB]

Offloading potential size in MB

  • Sum of the data partitions that fit the offloading rules

  • Calculation is based on the estimated data size

Off. %

Offloading potential size as a percentage relative to the object size

Rows

Number of rows in the InfoProvider data tables (the same tables are used in the size calculation)

Number of queries

Total number of queries that read data in the InfoProvider:

  • This column can contain a value > 0, even if the InfoProvider is empty. This event occurs when a query uses a MultiProvider that includes this InfoProvider

Trend – Number of queries

Visualization displaying the usage of data areas. Values are rounded to natural numbers

Trend – Size [MB]

Visualization displaying the size of data areas. Values are rounded to natural numbers

Split characteristic

Applied time characteristic:

  • If the characteristic is empty, then the data distribution analysis does not identify a suitable characteristic, and the distribution of the size and number of queries is not successful

Condition

Recommended offloading condition

  • The condition includes all data partitions that fit the offloading rules

Archived size [MB]

Size of the unpacked archived data in MB

  • The size of data in an online database that would be occupied if all the archived data were reloaded

DTP source count

Number of times an InfoProvider is used as a source in DTP load requests

Last DTP exec.

Timestamp of the last DTP load request execution

DTP dest. count

Number of DTP requests loaded into an InfoProvider (including reloaded requests from an archive)

DTP dest. relv

Number of requests (DTPs for InfoCubes, activation requests for DSOs) that are relevant for straggler analysis:

  • For a DSO: The request is relevant when a changelog contains records of this request

  • For an InfoCube object: The request is relevant when the request records are not compressed

  • For a WODS object: The requests are not relevant because WODS can only be archived based on a request creation date

  • For an ADSO: Based on the type of the object, the ADSO behaves in the same as the equivalent object type (DSO, WODS, InfoCube)

    • An ADSO can have various settings. In general, the analysis collects requests for the following object types:

      • Data warehouse – the data mart: Information is gathered from the inbound table

      • Corporate memory – reporting capabilities: Information is gathered from the inbound table

      • Data warehouse – delta calculation: Information is gathered from the changelog table

DTP stragglers

Number of requests with straggler records (see here for more details):

  • Subset of requests that are relevant for straggler analysis and which contain at least one straggler record

DTP stragg. rows

Number of rows that represent straggler records

Number of lookups

Number of lookups that exist in a system for an InfoProvider

  • Number of lookups in the source code

Size collection date Last date when the size statistics were collected.

To improve the readability of result tables, not all columns are displayed by default. To show or hide columns, you can choose from predefined ALV layouts or create your own.

To display more details about an InfoProvider, right-click the object and select Display details which will lead you to the Detail View.
