Introduction

Intermediate documents (IDocs) are stored in several tables in the database. To control their size and improve the access time without losing any IDocs, they can be stored in the archives at the operating system level. These archives can be moved to external storage media for future retrieval. Archived IDocs should be optionally deleted from the SAP system.
This task encapsulates the SAP NetWeaver data archiving concept by using the SARA transaction and the WRITE action. The archiving object IDOC contains information about which database tables are used for archiving. During the runtime, the report RSEXARCA is executed.

Step List

1. In the main SNP Outboard™ Housekeeping menu, select Basis > Archiving Tasks > Intermediate Documents Archiving and click Settings.
2. In the variant screen, you can set the criteria for the requests to be archived.

The settings are maintained the same way as standard SAP Housekeeping tasks.

For more information on settings, refer to the Creating a settings ID chapter of this user documentation.
