Detailed Comparison of Two States

This chapter describes how to generate an extended cross-reference list for individual values from a customizing analysis result. You can compare two states of a customizing table using analysis runs to see how the data has changed over time.

NOTE Data is not compared across different systems, but rather the states of data at different points in time within one system are compared.

Prerequisites

  • You have performed two customizing analyses.

Proceed as follows to display a detailed comparison of two states:

  1. Start transaction /N/SNP/CW_TAB_MONITOR.
  2. Select the result of a customizing analysis.
  3. Click Execute.
  • The result opens.
  1. Click Compare with... to compare the displayed result with another result.
  2. Select an earlier analysis result.
  3. Click OK.
  • Next to the Status column, the Difference? column is inserted; it displays whether there is a difference at the table level () or not ().
  • Next to the Unequal (count) column, the columns Δ Equal, Δ Missing and Δ Unequal are inserted. These columns display the delta values.
  1. Double-click one of the four new fields in this row in order to obtain more detailed information about a table with regard to the comparison of the two customizing runs.
  • The comparison is displayed at the data record level.
  1. Click Differences to filter according to data records that have changed.
  • This displays all data records that were changed in the period between the two selected states. Modified cells are highlighted in red.
  • The Differences in column lists all cells in which changes were found.
NOTE

The runtime of this analysis can be shortened by disabling the analysis for transport usage. This option is disabled by default.

Proceed as follows to disable the option:

  1. Start transaction SM30.
  2. In the Table/View field, enter the view /SNP/CN00REGUV.
  3. Click Maintain.
  4. Remove the value X from the parameter CW.DETAILS.CUST.ANALYSE_TRANSPORTS.
  5. Click Save.
  • The analysis for transport usage has been disabled.
