S/4 Compatibility Scope
Compatibility Packs
The right to use the compatibility packs as well as support for the compatibility scope will end on December 31, 2025.
Exception: The right to use the functions LE-TRA, CS and PP-PO and the corresponding support will end on December 31, 2030.
A compatibility pack is a version of a standard SAP Business Suite product that is compatible with SAP® S/4HANA. Customers who have licensed the relevant software product in accordance with the SAP® S/4HANA Compatibility Scope Matrix (SAP Note 2269324) and meet the requirements for SAP® S/4HANA Enterprise Management can use the compatible version in their SAP® S/4HANA installation without an additional license fee. Standard SAP Business Suite products are not directly compatible with SAP® S/4HANA, but they can continue to be used in a non-S/4HANA environment in accordance with the respective license agreement.
Compatibility packs include functions from SAP ERP core as well as from line-of-business or industry solutions and cover either all or only certain functions of the original product. They are intended to ensure business continuity during the move to SAP® S/4HANA by allowing customers to continue using the Business Suite product version in SAP® S/4HANA until similar functions are available in SAP® S/4HANA. The use of compatibility packs is only valid for on-premises licenses of SAP® S/4HANA, while a different model applies for cloud licensing. The right to use the compatibility packs will end on the dates specified in the SAP® S/4HANA Compatibility Scope Matrix.
