Business Object Detail Analysis

This function allows you to visually analyze certain business objects in a Transformation Cockpit scenario. It checks whether the previous project phase is complete in terms of content, so that it is easier to plan the next steps in the project.

Prerequisites

A scenario with the following characteristics is available:

  • The source and target systems are maintained.
  • Transformation objects with business objects are maintained.
  • To be valid, a business object must always have exactly one detail field and no more than one time slice field.

Proceed as follows to perform a business object detail analysis:

  1. Start transaction /N/SNP/CW_BODA.
  2. Enter a run ID.
  3. Specify the TC scenario for which you want to analyze the business objects.
  4. Optional: Specify Modules to restrict the selection.
  5. Optional: Specify Transformation objects to restrict the selection.
  6. Optional: Disable the option Only consider active objects.
NOTE
  • The option Only consider active objects is enabled by default.
    1. Click Execute.
    • The view Business Obj. Detail Analysis: Monitor opens.
    NOTE

You can use transaction /N/SNP/CW_BODAM to open the view Business Obj. Detail Analysis: Monitor directly. The overview in this area enables you to delete old analyses.

    1. Click Refresh to refresh the status.
    • Once an analysis is complete, the status of the analysis changes to green.
    1. Double-click a completed analysis.
    • You can now download the report for the selected row as an HTML file.

The HTML file consists of a hierarchically structured navigation menu in the left-hand area and the visualized results of the report in the right-hand area. Click a node to display more detailed information in the right-hand area.

    Area Description
ScenarioThis level contains a list of the systems used in the scenario and their corresponding roles.
ModuleThis level only contains modules that you previously specified and for which transformation objects with valid business objects exist.
Business objectThis level contains the corresponding business objects for each module. The business objects are restricted to the previously specified transformation objects. In addition, the list only includes business objects that contain valid definitions with exactly one detail field and no more than one time slice field.
Usage frequencyThe lowest level contains information on the usage frequency of data. This data is determined by the main tables of the respective business object. The table displayed here contains additional columns that confirm the validity of the values under the Detail Analysis field. Accordingly, the program determines the validity of the source system and the target systems defined in the scenario.

If the analysis of the business object determines data on at least one system, you receive the following information:

    • One chart per system displaying the characteristics of the business object in question.
    • The data on which the chart is based.
    • The SQL statement that was used to determine the data.
    • An error message if business objects could not be analyzed.

If the analysis of the business object does not determine data on any of the systems, you receive the following information:

    • A note containing the table and business objects for which no data could be determined.
    • The SQL statement that was used to determine the data.
    • An error message if business objects could not be analyzed.
