Usage Matrix

With the appropriate data and the desired system, you can create a data selection in this area based on the OPEN_ITEM status of business objects in the usage matrix. Go to Analysis > Data > Usage matrix to access the corresponding user interface.

Proceed as follows to create a usage matrix: 

  1. In the Change System area, select a scan that uses analysis objects.
  1. The Show all objects view opens.
  2. Switch to the Show open objects view.
  3. Right-click the Open items link.
  4. Click the Usage details/Selection options option.
    5. NOTE You can make the selection for open items in the same way as for basic items. If a value selection is made in standard mode, any value selection made for the same object in open items mode is overwritten. In this way, an object can have the Open item selection for one value and the Basic item selection for another value. Make your value-based/time-based selections. The selections show the figures for open items. However, the total number of data records displayed is the same as the total number for the basic item object.
  1. Return to the main screen.
  2. Click Show selections.
  3. Your selections are displayed. Every selection displays the value (OPEN_ITEM) in the details.
  4. Switch to the Show all items view and find the object for which you made the selection in Show open items.
    5. NOTE

    If you have not made a selection, the application indicates that the object has not been selected. But if you switch to the Details area, the application indicates that a selection is available for the object for the value (OPEN_ITEM).

  1. Make a selection for a value.
  2. Return to the main screen.
  3. Click Show selections.
  • Based on the selections made, the combined selections of (OPEN_ITEM) and BASIC items are shown.
  1. Click Export > Overview.
  • In the exported Excel file, an X is shown in the Selected column for the object containing the selections of (OPEN_ITEM) and BASIC.
  1. Click Export > Details.
  • Three new columns are added: No. of Instances (OPEN_ITEM), Selected No. of Instances and Object % (OPEN_ITEM). In Selected, the value O is displayed if the selection was made from (OPEN_ITEM). If the selection was made from the BASIC element, the value X is displayed.
  1. Click Export > Blueprint.
  • The new attribute sql_type has been added to the <tobject> node.
