Creating Job Scripts

In the Interface Scan Launchpad, you can create a Microsoft Windows batch job script for setting up an automatic Interface Scan collector run.

Proceed as follows to create a job script:

  1. Open the Interface Scan Launchpad.
  2. Click Script.
  3. The Save as window opens.
  4. The file name contains the name of the database and the UUID of the connection entry by default. You can change the file name as required.
    HINWEIS

The script references the connection using a path to the connection list and the UUID of the connection entry. If a connection is changed, the change becomes also valid in the script. If a connection is deleted and recreated with the same parameters, you are still not able to find it, because it receives a new UUID. In such cases, create a new script and adjust the Microsoft Windows configuration of the script accordingly.

In addition, we recommend generating new scripts after upgrading the Interface Scan Client, because old scripts might not be compatible with later versions of the tools called within the script.

  5. Select a file path.
  6. Click Save.
  • The job script has been created.
