Setting the BO Replication

Business object replication allows you to copy a business object table from a remote system (typically an ERP system) into the chosen business object in the current setup. For example, a list of materials collected in the preselection on the ERP system will be copied to a material business object on the BW system. These values are then used for selective read task processing.

Proceed as follows to set the replication:

  1. In the step Maintain run ID, define the following parameters:

    • Run ID for BO replication on the remote system where the required data is stored in the business object table.

    • RFC destination for BO replication to connect to the remote system for the data replication.

  2. In the step Maintain DTS objects, create a new replication path as follows:

    • Input business object: Business object on the remote system from which data will be replicated.

    • Output business object: Business object used for filtering. This business object needs to be assigned to at least one table. See the chapter Assign Filtering Rules and Business Objects to see if the business object is assigned.

The tables with filtering according to business objects that are filled by replication paths must not be executed before the preselection is executed (in the step Execute and monitor preselection).
