Extending the Scope Manually

This step allows you to extend the scope for the transformation scenario manually. The scope consists of the following DTS elements:

This chapter describes the best practice for how to extend the table pool manually:

  1. Ensure the business objects and rules you plan to use have been created.

  2. Ensure the table is active in the table pool. Execute the step Maintain table pool with the filled select option tabname for the table you want to add. If the table is missing, add it manually.

NOTE If the table is not active in the table pool, the next step ends with an error.
  3. Execute the step Assign filtering rules and business objects.

  4. Click Edit.

  5. In the ALV toolbar, click Append row.

  6. Enter the new scope values in the ALV grid columns in the following order:

    1. Table name

    2. Rule/business object

      1. When adding a DTS business object:

        • The field name is loaded based on the data element or domain defined in the added business object. The field name is not editable.

      2. When adding a DTS rule:

        • The field name is loaded automatically based on the data element or domain defined in the business object to which the rule belongs.

        • The field name is editable, but other than field matching, the data element cannot be added.

NOTE The other required columns are filled out automatically if the entered values are consistent.
  7. Select the added row(s).

  8. Click Check assignment(s) to ensure that the added values are consistent.

  9. Click Save.
